Midnight Surrender

I can see the sky
My back against the ground
I see it in your eyes
The loss in what was found

I believe in someday
Another time, just not now
Some way
I’ve yet to think of how

The moonlight calls me
Back to that place
The stars guide me
Shadows on your face

Memory
Binding me to you
I see
But I don’t have a clue

The slightest fall
Fading beyond the night
I am sinking
Into the light

And I surrender
To the space of it all
The rise and the fall

This is my midnight
This is the end
Another beginning
Taking me in

But I will remember
The time that I’ve spent
I will surrender
To the timeless consent

This is my life
We’re only here for a time
This is my life

This is my life

Book Preview: Blue

BLUE
By: Shane G Stanley

Prologue

It wasn’t until now that I understood the meaning of the cerulean sky. When I was a child, my mother used to take me to the park when “The sky was ready”, as she would say. I remember drops of rain tapping against the brim of my hat as I would beg her to go into the storm just once. I’m in the storm now, mom. I wish you could be here to show me the way back. I’m sorry I didn’t remember sooner.
This place carries with it a vague familiarity. It’s strange to recognize a place that isn’t real, but I’d swear I’ve been here before. What am I supposed to remember? As I walked down the narrow corridor I couldn’t help but notice the elegantly adorned walls. It’s as if the pictures were whispering something to me, trying to make me recall another time.
I could feel the cold air whistling around my feet first, working it’s way to my waist and finally to my head. It’s happening again. The world itself began to peel away from me, thrusting my body into darkness once more. Please let me wake up. When the darkness is swallowed by light, please let it be home that I see.

Poem: Silhouette

Another victim to the soulless
take a moment to breathe it in
Another victor for the heartless
stealing breathe, a moment within

Light spills all around me
coating the void from where I lay
Warmth overtakes the other
piercing the plight of this foray

Lifeless and without passion
my hands begin to rise
hollow is the mask
hollow too, are the cries

This is the world I’ve known
the one before the day
This is the world of which I’ve grown
a world of disarray

I come not from happy
nor do I come from love
I travel not from peace
nor am I exempt from earthen glove

I come into this light
to join in your set
for the hope I now feel
becomes your silhouette

After a week with the iPhone, I’ve ventured out in search of the ultimate apps. Here is a list of “must haves” I’ve compiled:

1. Ping.fm
This app communicates with your ping.fm account, allowing a single status update to be sent through a plethora of social networking sites (such as myspace, facebook, and twitter). Chances are if you are reading this blog it’s thanks to my ping.fm app!

2. Google
The google app gives quick access to your google tools such as rss reader, task list, and more.

3. WordPress
WordPress app allows you to completely manage and update your wordpress blog. You can also upload pictures straight from your phone! This article is actually completely written from my iPhone.

4. Dropbox. The dropbox app bridges a gap between your pc and iPhone, for wireless file transfer of photos and other media types. It acts as a synchronization software as well.

5. QuickOffice Connect
QuickOffice has been a bit buggy since the ios4 update, but there is still use in it! This app is like having microsoft office on your iPhone. You can open and edit documents straits from your phone including word, excel and PDF files. Excel is bugged until the next update, as is the googledocs connection, but it supports the dropbox app I mentioned above. I use this to work on my book during free time and save it to my dropbox, thereby synchronizing changes I’ve made on my phone to he opt on my desktop. Nifty!

6. TeamViewer
TeamViewer allows you to remotely connect and control your home pc running the free teamviewer software. It’s very finger friendly and a great way to download files or scan your system for viruses while you are away from home!

7. Photoshop Mobile
Took a picture you want to send to a friend but accidentally got your secret lover in he shot? Photoshop Mobile is a free utility to crop, rotate, recolor, and fully edit photos from your phone.

8. Google Voice
This web app gives you easy access to make outgoing texts or calls using your alternate google voice number. Great for getting a business line or replacing your current number! It has call block spam options and custom greetings as well as much more. It’s currently by invite only, but if someone can convince me they want it and would use it I have one invite to give ;)

9. Pandora Radio
Streams your customize radio straight from pandora. If you don’t know what pandora is yet, check them out at pandora.com

10. Orb
Upset that you ran out of storage for your iPhone? Install the orb live app and the free orb desktop software to turn joyous home pc into a media streaming service. Stream any format pictures, music, video, and even live tv straight to your phone with this amazing app.

11.3D Pool Game
When your work is done, this 3d pool game has the beat physics engine I’ve seen for iPhone yet. You can also take turns playing 15 ball with a friend, if you trust them not to run off with your phone that is!

12. Trillian
Connect to virtually any instant messenger in a finger friendly app called trillian. I currently use it to manage my myspace, facebook, aim, msn, live, yahoo, and google talk accounts easily on my iPhone and desktop.

And there you have it. Have you found a must-have app I should add to he list? Let me know in the comment space bellow!

Go back to the memory
Because I’d much rather be
Anyone but me

This is not the work of disaster
The jester
Imposter

You will never find me
Looking through the eyes of the beast

Forgive me
Spite me
Don’t hate me

I am losing sight
of all the lines I created
Even when you say it
You say nothing at all

Go back to the memory
Because I’d much rather be
Anyone but me

Lyrics: Forget To Be

I sat up to watch the night wave goodbye
Just as memory passes by

If I forget who I am
Would you help me find that man?

If I forget what makes us happy
Could you show me where I stand?

If I forget to fight back
Would you mind that?

I fall asleep and dream
City lights, you’re walking with me

Is it real or make believe?
I don’t want to forget the scene.

If I forget to be
Please don’t forget to remind me

Just tried replacing the default windows mobile 6.5 home screen with one from some talented developers. The product is called iPhoneToday.

It basically mimics the iPhone home screen – one of the few things I think apple did right. It is 100% customizeable (something apple wouldn’t dare do). I also noticed a considerable performance increase in using this as my home screen.

PS. Yeah, it shows the nifty red bubble counters for missed calls/emails/sms etc!

PPS: It comes with it’s own icon set. The above image shows the icons I transferred over to my phone from a working iPhone, as well as a few custom icons I made (such as the burgundy task manager icon in the bottom right and practically all of the application icons).

Enjoy!

Memoir of Eternal

Venom in veins
this poison of perpetual rain
A pool of lust
blinding insanity’s sane

Winged it towers
above the faith of them
so bitter the flower
of forgotten sin

footsteps follow
behind the wake of stumble
draining whole in hollow
until void then crumbles

less than real
but more than false
bleeding creation
through lost pulse

In memory they weep
lost in trance
in sorrow they keep
forever in dance

The Art of Humanity is a project I’ve started back in 2008 to capture the essence of people I’ve encountered in my life that have played a part of who I am today. Welcome Erin Anderson of Australia to the list!
